Becoming a home care aide begins with interest in this type of work.  As with any other job, interested individuals should learn as much as possible about the position before interviewing or accepting a job.

Position Summary: The Care Aide provides personal care to patients as delegated by professional member of the patient care team. Responsible for parparofessional aspects of care and patient safety. Fucntion under the overall supervision of the aide supervisor.

Experience & Qualifications:
High school grad or GED acceptable.  Experience caring for the geriatric population in a health care-reltated setting. Must be able to to communicate orally and in writing, English preferred.

Skill Requirements:
CPR certified. Home health care certified either through completion of an approved home health aide training course or through competency testing.  Demonstrates good interpersonal relationship skills.
